Het fotoboek Through their eyes (door hun ogen van onze bevrijders) is een wandeling door de expositie met unieke ingekleurde foto's genomen door Amerikaanse fotografen die tijdens de bevrijding in 1944 door Zuid-Limburg trokken met hun Amerikaanse kameraden. De meeste foto's hebben een korte uitleg in 2 talen. Verder komen er foto's van toen en nu tijdens de oorlogsjaren en de bevrijding in voor, van enkele plekken in en omgeving Valkenburg. Fotoreportage van de expositie Through their eyes, van het bezoek van onze bevrijders, van de Amerikaanse Veteranen, het privebezoek van toenmalig Ambasadeur Ms Rasdan Dugal, van de expositie Gouvernement aan de Maas in Maastricht en van vrijdag de 13de september 2024 Viering 80 jaar bevrijding van de gemeente Valkenburg.
Ook plaatselijke fotografen komen er in voor, ruim 200 pagina's tellend fotoboek soft cover A4 liggend en de tekst in het Nederlands en Engels.
In samenwerking met de stichting We Do Remember & Museum Valkenburg.
The photo book Through their eyes (Door hun ogen van onze bevrijders) is a walk through an exhibition featuring unique colorized photographs taken by American photographers during the liberation of South Limburg in 1944, as they traveled with their fellow American comrades. Most of the photographs include a brief explanation in both Dutch and English.
The book also includes historical and contemporary images of several locations in and around Valkenburg from the war years and the liberation. It features a photo report from the Through their eyes exhibition, the visit of our liberators the American veterans, the private visit of then U.S. Ambassador Ms. Rasdan Dugal, the Gouvernement aan de Maas exhibition in Maastricht, and the 80th anniversary celebration of liberation on Friday, September 13, 2024, in the municipality of Valkenburg.
Work by local photographers is also included in this richly illustrated photo book of over 200 pages, presented in A4 landscape softcover format, with text in both Dutch and English.

OnderArts: kunst in de grotten is een rijk geïllustreerd boek over de ondergrondse kunst in de mergelgrotten van het Zuid-Limburgse gebied rond Valkenburg. Het boek is samengesteld door de Werkgroep OnderArts, een groep liefhebbers met een sterke band met de groeven, met als doel deze vaak verborgen kunst toegankelijk te maken voor een breder publiek.
Het boek laat zien hoe de muren van de grotten zich door de eeuwen heen ontwikkelden van eenvoudige inscripties, namen en tekeningen tot een uitgebreide ondergrondse kunstcollectie. Vooral vanaf de opkomst van het toerisme ontstonden steeds meer uitgewerkte schilderingen, reliëfs en muurtekeningen.
Een bijzonder onderdeel van OnderArts zijn de historische en oorlogsgerelateerde muurschilderingen. In verschillende grotten zijn afbeeldingen te vinden die verwijzen naar de periode van de Tweede Wereldoorlog (WW2). Sommige werken tonen militaire symboliek, soldaten, patriottische voorstellingen of weerspiegelen de sfeer van bezetting en bevrijding. De grotten werden tijdens de oorlog ook gebruikt als schuilplaats en opslaglocatie, waardoor de muurschilderingen niet alleen artistieke maar ook historische waarde hebben. Ze vormen als het ware een visueel dagboek van gebeurtenissen en emoties uit die periode.
Het boek is tweetalig (Nederlands/Engels) en bevat veel foto’s die deze vaak moeilijk toegankelijke ondergrondse kunst vastleggen. Daarmee is OnderArts zowel een kunstboek als een document over de culturele en historische betekenis van de Valkenburgse groeven.
OnderArts: Art in the Caves is a richly illustrated book about the underground art found in the marl caves of the South Limburg region around Valkenburg. The book was compiled by the OnderArts Working Group, a group of enthusiasts with a strong connection to the caves, with the aim of making this often hidden art accessible to a wider audience.
The book shows how the cave walls developed over the centuries from simple inscriptions, names, and drawings into an extensive underground art collection. Especially with the rise of tourism, increasingly elaborate paintings, reliefs, and wall drawings emerged.
A remarkable part of OnderArts is its collection of historical and war-related murals. In several caves, artworks can be found that refer to the period of the Second World War (WWII). Some depict military symbols, soldiers, patriotic scenes, or reflect the atmosphere of occupation and liberation. During the war, the caves were also used as shelters and storage locations, giving these murals not only artistic but also historical significance. They form, in a sense, a visual diary of events and emotions from that period.
The book is bilingual (Dutch/English) and contains many photographs documenting this often difficult-to-access underground art. As such, OnderArts is both an art book and an important record of the cultural and historical significance of the Valkenburg caves.
